On the morning of September 6, 2025, a delegation led by Fernanda Lay, Speaker of the National Parliament of Timor-Leste, visited BPG for a tour and exchange. They were welcomed and accompanied by Mr. Hu Deliang, Chairman and General Manager of the BPG, along with other senior executives.

At the BPG Green and Smart Energy Innovation Center, Speaker Fernanda Lay and her delegation received a comprehensive briefing on BPG's development. This included its founding philosophy of self-reliance and staying true to its roots; the four-generation entrepreneurial journey of continuous transformation, positioning it as a pioneer of China's reform and opening-up; its headquarters-based in Guangzhou's Baiyun District and its cross-regional industrial layout; and, most notably, its strategic focus under the "Dual Carbon" goals. The briefing detailed BPG's core technologies and integrated solutions across key sectors such as digitalization, power electronics, renewable energy, new services, materials and applications, and complete equipment, as well as its efforts in building an industrial ecosystem, driving scientific innovation, and nurturing R&D talent. As part of their tour, the delegation also visited several employee welfare facilities, including the Staff Reading Room, Employee Wellness Station, and Caring Mothers' Room. Speaker Lay spoke highly of the company's social responsibility initiatives, particularly the Staff Reading Room's book donation program and its opening to the public, as well as the company's broader commitment to safeguarding workers' rights and well-being.

During the exchange, Chairman Hu extended a warm welcome to Speaker Fernanda Lay and her delegation, and expressed sincere gratitude for the ongoing support from all sectors of society. In his remarks, he highlighted that since the introduction of electricity in China 143 years ago, the nation has not only built the world's largest power supply system—securing the energy needs for its socio-economic development while making electricity steadily more affordable for its people—but has also assumed a leading global position in the transition towards a green and low-carbon energy future. As a representative player in China's power equipment manufacturing sector, BPG has been an active supporter of the Belt and Road Initiative, providing a wide range of high-quality products and services to countries and regions along the route, including Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia. Chairman Hu expressed his hope that this visit would serve as a bridge for future collaboration. He stated that BPG stands ready to leverage its solid industrial foundation, comprehensive product chain, and technological strength to contribute BPG's expertise and solutions to Timor-Leste's power grid development and renewable energy initiatives.
Speaker Fernanda Lay commented that the visit provided her with direct observation and a much clearer, firsthand perspective on China's advancements in key sectors such as green and smart energy infrastructure, smart manufacturing, and the application of new materials like Aerogel. She further noted that Timor-Leste and China share a true and profound friendship and are important trade partners. In recent years, fruitful outcomes have been achieved under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative. Currently, as Timor-Leste is actively pursuing its own power and energy transition, she expressed a hope for deeper exchanges and cooperation with BPG in areas such as renewable energy development in the future.

This visit signified more than a key milestone in BPG's global outreach; it served as a practical demonstration of Guangdong Province's commitment, as a major economic powerhouse, to deepening local exchanges under the high-quality Belt and Road Initiative. It actively promotes greater people-to-people connectivity, closer cooperation across sectors, and works to solidify and elevate the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Timor-Leste. Moving forward, BPG will continue to set sail with innovation as its sail and mutual benefit as its oar, navigating in step with national strategies to contribute actively to the Belt and Road Initiative. BPG aims to ensure that the brilliance of “intelligent manufacturing in China "marches in stride with the development of more countries and regions across the globe.
