On December 3, 2025, a localization manufacturing factory for a flexible DC transmission project, jointly established by Rongxin Huiko Electric Co., Ltd. and APS (a leading local Saudi company under the well-known Saudi MIG Group), held a grand groundbreaking ceremony in the Third Industrial City of Dammam, Saudi Arabia.

This localization factory is a core initiative by Rongxin Huiko in deeply implementing the industrial localization strategy outlined in Saudi Arabia's "Vision 2030." The factory will directly support the Saudi flexible DC project secured by Rongxin Huiko in July 2024, which involves the supply of 4 sets of ±500 kV/1.5GW high-capacity flexible DC converter valves and auxiliary equipment. This order not only represents a major breakthrough for Rongxin Huiko's flexible DC products in the overseas market but also marks the first successful entry of China's independently developed ±500kV flexible DC transmission technology into the Middle East region. Furthermore, it sets the highest voltage level record for similar overseas projects, representing world-class advanced capabilities in this field.

At the groundbreaking ceremony, Rongxin Huiko and APS elaborated on the localization cooperation plan, factory layout, and construction progress. Senior executives from the Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) highly commended the factory's high-standard construction and timely operational readiness. They emphasized that the establishment of the factory aligns with Saudi Arabia's demand for industrial upgrading and localization, while also setting a benchmark for technological exchange and production capacity cooperation between China and Saudi Arabia. Furthermore, they expressed earnest anticipation for the early completion of production and testing of the four converter valve sets for the Saudi Central-West Project, aiming for high-quality delivery and successful commissioning of the equipment.

At the ceremony, the project leader of Rongxin Huiko stated: "Rongxin Huiko will take the commencement of this localization factory as an opportunity to continuously deepen collaboration with partners in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East region. We are committed to ensuring the on-time and high-quality commissioning of this landmark energy infrastructure project in Saudi Arabia. Furthermore, starting from this foundation, we will work with regional partners to jointly explore the future of renewable energy interconnection."

The successful establishment of this localization factory not only demonstrates Rongxin Huiko's competitiveness and credibility in the international high-end power equipment market but also marks a new chapter for Chinese technology and equipment in deeply participating in global energy infrastructure construction, particularly in supporting the optimization of the energy structure and green transition in the Middle East region.
