The 2025 National Science and Technology Award Conference was held in Beijing on 8 July 2026.
On 8 July 2026, the National Science and Technology Award Conference was held in Beijing. A project jointly undertaken by RXHK, an affiliated company of Baiyun Power Group, Tsinghua University and other participating organizations received the Second Prize of the 2025 State Scientific and Technological Progress Award.
The award recognizes the project “Electronic Large-Capacity DC Voltage Conversion Technology, Equipment Series and Engineering Applications.” The project represents a major advance in high-capacity power conversion technology and its application in complex energy and industrial systems.
More than a decade of sustained research and engineering
Over more than ten years of research and development, the project team achieved breakthroughs in ultra-large-capacity, ultra-low-loss DC voltage conversion. The team developed a series of advanced products and supported the localization of key technologies for next-generation DC power equipment.
The resulting technologies were included in China’s catalogue of first-of-a-kind major technical equipment in the energy sector, providing important support for independent innovation in high-end power equipment and for the country’s broader energy transition.
The award highlights the value of combining original technological innovation with large-scale engineering application.
Advancing high-power DC conversion equipment
Within the project, RXHK played a central role as an enterprise innovation partner. The company contributed to the development of high-conversion-ratio, multi-port self-powered supply solutions and advanced design methods for operation in demanding electromagnetic environments.
The team also addressed a series of equipment-integration challenges, including multi-stage overvoltage protection, compact insulation design, and coordinated electromagnetic, thermal and mechanical performance.
Supporting the development of next-generation power systems
The project’s technologies have been applied in major engineering scenarios including large-scale renewable energy transmission, power-grid interconnection, industrial variable-frequency systems, and controlled-fusion-related applications.
These applications demonstrate the project’s ability to move from core technology to equipment development and then to system-level deployment. They also provide strong technical support for the construction of a more flexible, efficient and resilient power system.
Strengthening long-term collaboration across industry and research
As one of the representative enterprises in China’s power equipment manufacturing sector, Baiyun Power Group has remained committed to independent innovation and coordinated industry-university-research development for more than four decades.
The Group and its affiliated companies have established a range of national-level innovation and testing platforms, supporting continuous progress in power electronics, electrical equipment, renewable energy integration, advanced materials and complete system solutions.
Looking ahead
Baiyun Power Group will continue to increase investment in core technology development, deepen collaborative innovation, and strengthen its capabilities in digital technologies, power electronics, new energy, new services, advanced materials and complete equipment systems. Through continued innovation and engineering excellence, the Group aims to contribute to a cleaner, more digital and more resilient global energy system.
