On December 3, 2025, the China Building Materials Conference themed "Innovation-Driven, Green-Led: Promoting High-Quality Development to Transform the Building Materials Industrial System.," was grandly held at the Pan Pacific Ningbo Hotel. As an annual bellwether guiding industry development, the conference gathered elite representatives from various sectors, including municipal leaders of Ningbo, academicians, experts, and leading enterprise representatives, focusing on breakthroughs in new technologies, green and low-carbon transformation, and deep industrial integration.

The World's First Aerogel Withstanding 1300°C
At the highly anticipated second "Quality for Excellence" Breakthrough New Technologies and Products Conference in the building materials industry, Teng Kaiming, General Manager of Jiayun Advanced Materials Co., Ltd (JYAM), took the stage to unveil a globally leading innovation — the "World's First 1300°C Withstanding Aerogel Insulation Product for New-Energy Batteries."This core product, developed by JYAM R&D team through 20 years of dedicated research, marks a world-class breakthrough built upon the company's first-generation, internationally pioneering 1000°C product.
The R&D team led by Professor Shen Xiaodong, the company's founder, has long been dedicated to fundamental research and key technology development of aerogel materials, overcoming the technical challenge of poor high-temperature resistance in SiO₂ aerogel materials. In simulations of the most extreme safety scenarios, when a high-energy-density thermal runaway erupted into flames of 1300°C, a mere 2.5 mm-thick Jiayun aerogel insulation sheet successfully blocked the deadly spread of heat, achieving both higher temperature resistance and extended high-temperature endurance. Based on this research, the developed AJ1025S ceramic fiber aerogel sheet achieves extreme performance, capable of withstanding 1000°C continuously and resisting 1300°C instantly. Its thickness is only one-third of that of traditional materials, while the overall cost is significantly reduced by approximately 40%. It marks a historic leap for China's aerogel insulation technology from "following" to "leading," establishing a reliable safety barrier for cutting-edge fields such as new-energy batteries.

Addressing the extreme safety demands of leading industry enterprises, JYAM has provided customized cell-level "firewall" solutions through embedded R&D. The related technology has also been selected as a nominated project for the 2025 National Scientific and Technological Progress Award. Currently, the relevant products have officially entered the supplier system and achieved batch delivery, akin to providing power batteries with an absolutely reliable "insulation suit," continuously safeguarding the safe future of global electric mobility.

From being featured as the "Material Pillar" in the fourth season of CCTV's "National Heavyweights" to gaining significant attention at this China Building Materials Conference, JYAM has consistently adhered to the Slogan of "Amazing aerogel to explore the infinite possibilities," empowering industrial upgrading through nanotechnology. Moving forward, JYAM will continue to deepen its research and development of green, low-carbon new materials, promote the in-depth application of aerogel technology in building energy efficiency and carbon dioxide capture, inject more innovative momentum into the high-quality development of the building materials industry, and steadily progress toward the vision of becoming a "Global leader in the aerogel materials industry."
